Peach State Health Plan and Boys & Girls Club of Albany Make Fitness a Priority
On August 21, 2019, Peach State Health Plan and Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany marked the opening of a new fitness room with a ribbon cutting event at its Jefferson Street location. Peach State Health Plan sponsored the space renovation which includes state of the art rubberized flooring, LED lighting, mirrored walls, and a SMART TV to stream exercise videos. The fitness room, is part of the Club’s Healthy Lifestyle Initiative which is designed to encourage children and families to engage in fitness activities to achieve healthier lifestyles.
“We take great pride in empowering communities to take charge of their health. This partnership gives us opportunity to connect more families to the resources they need to make healthy decisions so they can get and stay well,” said Interim CEO Pamela Shipley.
The Club will also launch a 90-day challenge to help members and families improve their physical and family health. Participants will engage in health and wellness activities aimed to enhance their overall health and build stronger familial bonds.
