Physicians Recognized for Providing Quality Care to Peach State Members
Smyrna, GA (July 10, 2009)— Peach State Health Plan (Peach State), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), in collaboration with the Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare, today recognized three Georgia physicians as part of its second annual Physician Summit Award program. The annual award program acknowledges physicians for providing quality care and clinical excellence to Peach State members.
“Peach State is committed to recognizing Georgia providers for the excellent care they provide to our members,” said Patrick Healy, President and Chief Executive Officer for Peach State. “We are pleased to recognize these providers for the key contributions they make to improve the care, quality and long term healthcare outcomes of our members.”
Kathy Bradley-Wells, President, Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare, stated, “We are proud to support a program that recognizes the important role our physicians play in providing access to quality care and improving health outcomes for our members.”
The winners of the annual Physician Summit Awards demonstrate exemplary performance in the following areas: follow-up care after emergency room visits, routine preventive and well care services for both adults and children, and establishing a “medical home” for new enrollees by promoting the member-primary care physician relationship. Peach State recognizes one physician per service region.
